Who We Are! What We Do!

 

The Cambodian Children’s House of Peace is a registered Non-governmental Organization (NGO), located in Siem Reap, location of the World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat.  The CCHP serves poor children, primarily from Siem Reap Province, the largest and poorest of the country.  Some of our children are orphans or abandoned, many have a single mom, and some with both parents, but who have many other children, and face hunger and lack of schooling.


The Purpose and Aim of the Cambodian Children’s House of Peace:

  • Provide shelter, food and clothing to poor children, ages 10-18, both boys and girls, in a safe and secure environment.
  • Provide education, in the public elementary and high schools, and in appropriate vocational programs and classes.
  • Provide classes in the English language.
  • Provide health care as needed.
  • Provide moral and spiritual development consistent with the traditions and culture of Cambodia.
  • Foster healthy relationships with their parents and extended families in the their home villages, with occasional visits for holidays, festivals and family occasions.
  • Provide social and recreational activities, both within CCHP, as well as in collaboration with other groups and organizations in the area.
  • Provide educational and recreational excursions to the historic and cultural sites of the Province and the Kingdom.
  • Assist the children in preparation and transition to living and working independently in the society upon the age of 18.
  • Provide scholarships to qualified students for continuing education in college, technical or vocational schools.
